Founded by a liberally-minded group of people who believed there was a better way, and set out to create it. Suma was born from a passion for wholefoods, organics, sustainability and co-operative working.

We’ve always believed in making plant-based eating easy and nutritious. From beans and pulses to vegan convenience foods we’ve been leading the way. Here’s how we’ve innovated over the years

1977

We were supplying in bulk to stores where you could fill bags with rice, pulses and grains, way back in the ‘70s before refill stations were a thing.

2000

We beat major supermarket retailers to market with Organic Sunflower Spread. We were supplying local health food stores on the high street.

2016

We were the first to the UK market with our Baked Beans and Vegan Sausages; a classic made easy. It was soon followed by more dishes in our exciting vegan convenience range.
