If you don’t already know our household cleaning brand, Ecoleaf by Suma, here’s a quick overview ahead of big news!
Let’s go back to 1986, when we launched the UK’s first recycled toilet paper! This was the start of all things toilet paper and household cleaning for us, under the Suma name.
It wasn’t until 2008 that we set out to explore how we could make cleaning products better. We knew our customers trusted us to source sustainable food choices, but we recognised they deserved more than simple store cupboard essentials. We wanted to offer a range of household products, made in the UK, that were cruelty-free, vegan, and less harmful to people and planet.
So, in true Suma style, we did our research, and in 2009 we launched our first six products. They got an incredible response, and since then we have continued to develop the range, which now covers everything laundry, kitchen, bathroom and beyond. With over 50 lines, covering all sizes from retail ready to 20 litres, Ecoleaf by Suma is a key element of the Suma family.
Ethically sourced and always cruelty-free
We’ve poured over the details of every single ingredient in each and every product. You can trust us to have done our homework, so you don’t have to. We’ve developed a selection of fresh-smelling fragrances, and the entire range is responsibly sourced, Vegan Society approved and certified cruelty-free. Oh, and nearly all of them are made right here in the UK!
Kind to the planet and your pocket
We prioritise both packaging and ingredients and are always exploring ways to reduce our impact on the planet and your pocket. Our 5l refill containers are made from 100% post-consumer plastic, with the 20l ones being trickier, but always at least 30% post-consumer recycled.
Our 500ml hand soaps use bottles made from 100% Prevented Ocean Plastic™ collected from coastlines at risk of ocean plastic pollution.
Brought to you by people you can trust
Ecoleaf is part of the Suma family. Founded in 1977, Suma is a group of ordinary people – a worker-owned co-op – built on integrity and equality. A workplace with no bosses, where everyone has equal pay and an equal say. Doing business sustainably and inspiring change for good. And we’re happy to say we’re the largest equal pay co-op in Europe. You can’t say fairer than that, right?
