Suma Require LGV Drivers and Warehouse Worker

Submitted by on July 28, 2016 – 11:05 amNo Comment

Suma regularly recruit for temporary workers in warehousing and LGV driving

Emma balances her working week between working in our sales and customer information teams with a mix of manual warehouse work.
We regularly require short-term Order Pickers and general warehouse workers as well as LGV drivers at peak sales and holiday periods. We require all these at our main site in Elland, West Yorkshire and LGV divers at our distribution site in Greenford, London. Contracts are generally between 3 and 18 months dependent on our need and your availability.

Our temporary workers play a vital role at Suma, helping us to cover our operational needs over peak sales and high holiday periods. Like our members we expect them to be self managing, willing to learn new skills, adaptable and responsible and to take an active interest in providing a great service for our customers.

Suma operates over 24 hours a day and as such we need people who can work a variety of shift times. Contracts are for a minimum of three shifts – usually eight-hour shifts but we also have vacancies for part time evening work.

Everyone at Suma is paid the same NET rate per hour (over £11 per hour) with a generous holiday allowance as well as benefits such as free canteen and profit related bonus. Full training will be given so experience is not necessary. Pickers who successfully pass a three month probationary period have opportunities to learn further skills such as fork lift truck driving and team coordination. While temporary work at Suma will not lead to a permanent Member position directly, many of our members are previous temporary workers and temporary work leads to opportunities to learn skills which are valuable to take to other jobs including Suma Membership.

If you would like to be considered for temporary vacancies at Suma please submit the speculative application form below.

Speculative applications will be kept on file for a 6-month period.
