This month we turn our attention to one of our longest standing suppliers, natural health and beauty company Faith in Nature. Suma and Faith in Nature have a long partnership. We supplied their products back when nobody else was doing what they are doing. Now natural cosmetics are really popular but it’s worth remembering that people like Faith are true pioneers, and we take our hats of to them. We spoke to founder and chairperson Rivka Rose.

Q) How was Faith in Nature started?

A) The company was established in 1974 when I had a vision for a beauty and skin care range using ingredients from natural sources that were cruelty free, of vegetable origin, and kind to the environment.
I began by creating my own formulations and mixing them in my kitchen sink. My first formulations included a face cream free from mineral oil and an Organic Seaweed Shampoo followed, and it is still one of our best sellers today.
From that kitchen sink in western Scotland, with products sold from my rucksack as I travelled visiting Health Food Stores, I set up a small office and factory in Edinburgh and Faith Products, as the brand was then called, was born.
The business relocated to north Manchester in 1989 and this is where all products are manufactured today, adhering to the same eco-friendly principles as when the business was first established.

Q) What sort of product ranges does Faith in Nature sell?

A) Faith in Nature carries a wide range of natural, cruelty free beauty care products including Hair Care, Body Care, Skin Care, Humphrey’s Corner Baby Care range, and a Home Care range. Our most popular ranges are: Lavender & Geranium, Coconut, Aloe Vera, and Seaweed & Citrus.

Q) What makes Faith in Nature unique?

A) Faith in Nature products are made with 100% natural fragrances and essential oils and are free from Parabens, SLS, and SLES. Our cruelty-free products are suitable for vegetarians as no animal products are used in any of our products. We also carry the Vegan Society accreditation across our products (apart from Neem & Propolis) and you can find this on the front of our packs.

Q) How does Faith in Nature innovate and create new products?

A) Looking towards the future and developing new products is one of the best parts of my job! I am very passionate about innovating new products and I love working alongside our Research & Development team to explore new ideas, technologies and fragrances to bring to market innovative products that our consumers will love. We get lots of consumer feedback as well and are always listening to their comments via our website and social media channels.
