It’s coming to the end of National Vegetarian Week so we thought we would start a new poll. We’d like to find out if visitors to our website are vegetarian/vegan, and if so, what their main reason for becoming one was. You can take part in the poll by visiting our wholesale website. You’ll find the poll at the bottom right of the page that clicking here takes you to.

This new poll means that we are closing the old one. We asked ‘how would you classify your diet?’ We had 2237 responses and the results were as follows;
557 (24%) Vegetarian
660 (30%) Vegan
238 (11%) Pescetarian
422 (19%) Carnivore/Omnivore
70 ( 3%) Raw foodist
170 ( 8%) A restricted diet for medical reasons
120 ( 5%) None of the above diets

    I am vegan because eating animal products is cruel and unnecessary. It takes a lot more energy to make animal protein for food than it does to make plant protein for food. The reason is you have to feed animals plants in order for them to build muscle. A large portion of the food we grow in this country goes to feeding animals instead of humans. Most of the plants we feed animals does not turn to animal protein, it turns to manure, a lot which is unprocessed and pollutes rivers. It would be more efficient and cleaner if humans lived on a plant based diet. A plant based diet is no less healthy than a diet with meat in it. Look at athletes like Brendan Brazier, Venus Williams, Aaron Simpson, Jake Shields, Rich Roll, Laura Kline and several others. There is barely ant cholesterol in plant based foods and is more healthy than animal products. Being vegan makes me feel physically and mentally better.
