Btec Students Visit Suma

Submitted by on October 3, 2013 – 9:28 amOne Comment

On 25th October we were delighted to host a visit by 19 sixth form Btec level 3 Business Studies students and teachers from nearby Brighouse High School.

This is the third year we have welcomed BHS students and enjoyed having the opportunity once again to explain the differences and benefits of our cooperative working methods and business model to other more ‘conventionally run’ companies. Since Suma Coop was formed in the late 70’s it has gone from strength to strength, bucking the recent recessionary trends and continuing to grow successfully whilst always retaining its original, ethical, worker coop values and it is great to show students that ‘there is another way’.

Later this year we will also host two visits by GCSE Applied Business Studies students from the same school. We very much value our relationship with Brighouse High School which has blossomed since we sponsored a Polytunnel in their grounds to help kick-start a Horticulture course.

Will you be interested in working with some of our level 3 business students. In a similar way that you have done with Brighouse School. Please let me know if interested.
