Goodbye and Good Luck

It was sometime in the late 1970′s that Graham Findley first turned up at Suma, like a bedraggled rescue cat from the long since defunct Aurora wholefood shop in Hebden Bridge. He was originally employed to run our warehouse in Leeds as a direct replacement for Suma’s founder Reg Tayler, who was retreating on a spiritual journey to a croft in the Orkneys.

From those humble beginnings, Graham embarked on a personal mission of self-improvement via almost all the jobs that Suma has to offer. He has visited many ports of call on this challenging journey: HGV Driver, Customer Accountant, Transport Manager, Operations Coordinator, Buyer, Order Picker… to name but a few. All were conducted with an unstinting belief in his own ability, despite some evidence to the contrary. Graham holds the record for the number of different jobs held by one individual at Suma. The posts he hasn’t held can be counted on the fingers of one hand with two fingers removed. However it’s in his current roles as Function Area Coordinator and Pricelist Designer that he has truly blossomed, with strong indications that his cycle of personal development may be about to peak.

So Graham is very much leaving us on a high to spend more time with his beloved dog Daisy and his treasured collection of Imperial Leather products (see photo) wondering what the hell to do with the rest of his life…
Bye Bye Graham, we’ll miss you!
