Trailtrekkers raise vital funds for Oxfam’s work

The Oxfam Trailtrekker promised a tough physical challenge culminating in a sense of achievement second to none. It did what it said!!
Eight of us set out with a dream some six months ago and with the fantastic support of Nathalie, Becs, Tony, Peter, Rachel, Sophie and Ross, we completed our joint aim of raising £2,500 for Oxfam and crossing the 100km walk finishing line hand in hand together.
30 hours and 25 minutes is what it says on our certificates. It doesn’t mention the support we all gave each other, the friendships forged; it doesn’t talk of the heroic efforts of five out of the eight of us that suffered everything from severe blistering, a dislocated finger from falling and other physical ailments. Yet we continued walking through personal agonies on one of the hottest days of the year.
The group were inspirational in their determination to overcome everything and ensure we completed what we set out to achieve all that time ago. And all to support those who endure daily the torments and deprivations that we chose to adopt for a day.
Thank you to everyone who has helped us in any way. You can still sponsor us by visiting their fundraising page
if you would like to support the cause.
Love Karen, Rachel, Sheena, Chris, Jamie, Peter, Steve and Tim
