Hurrah! It’s almost Fairtrade Fortnight
As a socially conscious worker coop, we Suma folk pride ourselves on sourcing our products ethically and acknowledging our responsibility to the people who supply them. And we know that as a discerning customer and food shopper, these issues will be at the forefront of your mind as well.
So it’ll come as no surprise to you that we are already looking forward to Fairtrade Fortnight 2011, which will be taking place from 28th February to 13th March.
We want to play our part in Fairtrade Fortnight to highlight the fact that Fairtrade can significantly improve the lives of farmers and producers around the world. We believe that these producers are entitled to a reasonable price for their produce, decent working conditions and control over their own lives- it’s only fair, after all!
So…if this is going to be our biggest Fairtrade Fortnight celebration ever, we’ll need your help!
Here’s how to get involved:
Send us your Fairtrade recipes!
When Fairtrade Fortnight comes around we want to showcase a great selection of recipes that inspire people to choose Fairtrade. We’ll even offer a prize for the best one (edible, of course!) There’s a huge range of Fairtrade ingredients to choose from, so get creative in the kitchen and we’ll post your handiwork on our website.
Stock up on Fairtrade & spread the word
Make sure you flaunt Fairtrade by stocking up on our special offers. Show them off in your shops, café’s and restaurants, and flaunt them to friends and family.
Join the fun!
This year we will be joining in The Fairtrade Foundation’s ‘Show Off Your Label’ game, with exciting challenges on each day of the fortnight and prizes for the top entries! Keep an eye on our Facebook page for more details.
