Where did all the Organic Margarine Go ?
Where did all the Organic margarine go?
Our long time supplier has totally stopped handling organics and has given up their organic certification – after what seems like, and might even have been years of discussion, we’ve not been able to persuade them otherwise. So our organic yellow spread, margarine products are gone, kaput, finished and not coming back.
We are currently looking for similar replacements and we hope to have something as soon as possible - rest assured you’ll be the first to know. In the meantime, please accept our apologies for this temporary lack of stock. The margarine industry is a beast, small manufacturers are consumed by bigger ones and it becomes more and more difficult for independent brands to survive. Please support those which remain.
Don’t forget Suma still has two non organic margarines available:
Other possible substitutes:

I cannot believe that I can no longer have Pure Organic Margarine on my hot cross buns. I am allergis to all dairy foods, and this is the nearest to the butter that I remember. I have been told that isw it now discontinued. Is there a substitute please?

Hi Eileen,
At the bottom of the main article we included some links to Biona Organic spreads. At the moment these are the only organic non dairy spreads we offer. If you are not bothered about organic, why not try our Suma sunflower or soya spread? Also linked to in the post above.
Hope you find something,
Amy
