New Suma website launched
Welcome to our new website
The website you are now looking at is the third version of www.suma.coop and we hope you’ll find it a big improvement on our last site.
The new site was built in house, by Amy, one of our members. She used wordpress, an open source CMS system which allows many people to contribute to it’s content, without needing to know web page programming languages. So you should find a lot more information on this site, and interesting articles posted by a trained pool of Suma workers. We’ve also designed the site so that you, the reader, can submit your own articles for publication on our site. Visit the submit a story feature to find out how.
We have separated our web content in to 5 main areas, Brand, Recipes, Ethics, News and Cooperation. You’ll find delicious vegetarian and vegan recipes from our canteen for you to try at home, news and information on our own brand range of Suma products, and articles about topics which relate closely to the core values of our business, and what is involved in running an ethical, workers’ cooperative.
We hope you’ll take the time to visit this site regularly, and contribute either by submitting a story, or leaving comments on articles written on our site. We’d like to think this new website will be a great tool in engaging with our customers, and help us to create our own Suma community. If you find articles on our site interesting, we’ve made it easy for you to share them using social networking tools like twitter, facebook, myspace and del.icio.us. So have a look round and tell us what you think. Over time, with your help, we hope it will become a great resource for vegetarian recipes and wholefood related information.

The new site looks nice, still working my way around it!
Excellent site and a really good resource or everyone. Well done.
Great looking new site with loads of useful content – except where have the excel price lists gone?
Thanks

Hi Alistair, thanks for your comment.
We’re working on making this page private for our customers access only. At the moment it’s work in progress, and we hope to make it available again soon.

Yes, agree, the site looks really good with loads of information .. except I too was hoping to find the Excel price list and special offer pdf for Jan/Feb to email around to our ordering group!

The page is accessible at http://www.suma.coop/download-links
Well done folks. A vastly improved website.
Sorry, preferred old site. I know what products i wanted and could navigate the list quickly and easily. Now I seem to have to mess around from several. still learning so maybe it will get easier, but if it ain’t broke etc etc

Hi Sean,
Sorry to hear your having troubles with our site. Is it because we have 3 sites that it’s confusing?
http://www.suma.coop – This is our main company site, used to display news and information
http://www.sumawholesale.coop – This site was launched in Nov 08 and is for our business and food group customers to order in bulk or wholesale quantities.
Let me know if I can help you more,
Amy
Sadly not impressed! Bought some Suma soap at a shop and wanted to buy some more online. A search on here brings up nothing at all and on your other site it brings up chocolate!!

Hey Pat,
Point taken! We don’t currently stock Suma Soap on http://www.sumamarket.coop, but we are looking to expand the range, and you should be able to start buying it on this site soon. It is very odd that it comes up with chocolate, our soap is nice, but not made for eating
In the meantime, if you want to contact us at info@suma.coop, and email us your post code, we can tell you your nearest retailer, and where you can buy the product.
Regards,
Amy
